Wildfox DAISY'S GIRL A/W'13

“I hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.”
"In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars.'"
Style, glamour and fresh doses of creativity is are things that Wildfox are definitely associated with. Their clothes and campaigns are unique and inspiring, and it's no wonder Wildfox has gained such an acclaimed and international gathering. Every Wildfox ad campaign crafts a very strong storyline and captures the right mood perfectly. This is one reason, (we could have a whole list that would go on forever) why we love their ads and gorgeous clothes. This season, Wildfox Designer Kimberley Gordon was inspired by the raging 20s old-glamour fashion and felt like it really suited Wildfox's aesthetics after re-reading The Great Gatsby. She says"Parties all the time, driving into town, spending money, falling in love, big mansions and gardens, the ocean, brewing your own alcohol, best friends and broken hearts...it's just so amazingly fun. It was all sparkle, true love, dancing, and champagne."Wildfox definitely has achieved this 1920s Gatsby glamour look perfectly- the girls come across as educated, wild, stylish and playful. The clothes in this collection are more casual-chic than fancy, and are most definitely wearable. Nowadays, so many designers produce so many daring clothes that I wouldn't dare wear at home, let alone out. This collection oozes the luxury, allure, and sparkle of the 20's in the most contemporary way possible. It's like being taken back to a time when endless summer nights were partied away. This campaign translates that era of excitement to the modern day we live in now. We are as enchanted by this campaign as we are with the 20's.

“And I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.”
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
“There are only the pursued, the pursuing, the busy and the tired.”
Add some sparkle, glitter, and glamour and you've got Wildox's daisy girl!

Misha Nonoo NYFW

During the week of New York Fashion Week, Style.Com is literally my new best buddy. I think its safe to say that I've spent way too much time idolizing all the clothes that have come through this website, dreaming of (hopefully) attending NYFW one day. One thing that I love about this week is seeing all of the up and coming designers showcase their lookbooks. With the advent of fashion coverage websites like style.com and fashionista, it's so easy to discover new designers. This is also how I managed to find Misha Nonoo, a designer whose designs I am currently coveting for. Nonoo's designs display immaculate tailoring and strike a balance of refreshing and pleasing colour schemes. Not too dark and heavy, yet not too light in colours. Flora and Fauna adorned the backdrop of this catwalk, which certainly contributes to the very blissful vibe of her clothes. The models were fresh-faced and absolutely radiant against the clothes and their make up was very natural, focusing all of the attention on the extremely wearable clothes.
The designer explains "There's no black at all", which is honestly so energising to see. Nonoo has masterfully fused a myriad of mixed prints into her clothes, which also resembles a splattered canvas, although not overdoing the concept. There's not a single look I don't love in Nonoo's collection, and I cannot believe I had never come across her wonderful designs up till now.
What was your favourite look in this collection?

palm trees

While I was in Brussels, I picked up this pretty little dress from Zara! I love the bright, exotic print. Although the dress has neon palm trees printed all over it, the classic silhouette makes it much easier to wear. To accessorise I picked a simple, yet statement piece from efoxcity
